Mercator Ocean International, the implementor of the Copernicus Marine Service, in partnership with the MIT Enterprise Forum Greece announces the Marine Data Challenge event to encourage innovative solutions to some of the most important global challenges related to the blue economy. This event will take place in the period of July – to December 2022 with the first kick-off introduction event on July 12th happening online.

The Marine Data Challenge

This event is designed to bring together organizations that face challenges in the marine environment with a problem-solving network that can develop innovative and sustainable solutions using their expertise and the Copernicus Marine Service open data. The focus will be on four topics of the blue economy:

• Aquaculture & Fisheries,
• Maritime navigation (for both passengers and goods),
• Renewable energies, and
• Coastal Management (including coastal planning, tourism, and coastal activities).
